Eset Security Review

For the money ESET’s suite is among of the best. Its malware detection rate is close to perfect, and it packs a good number of extra features into the space of a tiny footprint. The Android package comes with an anti-theft feature to help you find your phone that has been stolen. The premium version includes parental controls, a view secure browser, and a passcode manager. The features to protect your network such as a firewall and the option to check home devices for vulnerabilities, are also great.

SysInspector is an outstanding tool. It creates a snapshot and highlights important Registry entries and running processes. It can be intimidating for novices. However, if are familiar with extended task managers, such as the ones found in Sysinternals the process explorer, you will feel right at ease.

Scheduling scans on demand is another fantastic feature. This is an excellent alternative to real-time security, and it’s simple and quick to use. It’s just a shame that ESET does not include it in the same category as other scheduling tasks and their UI makes this somewhat harder to locate than their competitors.

The password manager is user-friendly and comes with a lot of features. It’s an extremely effective form filler that can be used for online banking. The password manager is only available in the premium version, and requires an ESET account, but it works just as well as the other standalone solutions I’ve tested.
